Mr. Everett Brown is entering his 4th year of teaching with MCPS. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and Master’s in Secondary Education from the University of Maryland. Passionate about computer science, Mr. Brown has taught various levels of high school computer science courses including Foundations of Computer Science, Website Development, AP Computer Science Principles, AP Computer Science A (Java), and Programming III. He finds joy in seeing what students create when students master programming languages and tools.
Mr. Brown is excited to step into his new role as Internship Coordinator and support students, eager to support students as they explore their interests, develop new skills, and engage in meaningful professional experiences. This hands-on experience allows students to step outside the classroom and immerse themselves in real-world environments, providing invaluable insights into potential career paths. He looks forward to guiding students through their internship journeys, ensuring they make the most of these incredible opportunities.
In the summers, Everett can be found at the beach, working as an ocean lifeguard and managing Crew 7 for the Ocean City Beach Patrol. In his free time, he enjoys swimming, skiing, surfing, and spending quality time with friends and family.
Ms. Korrin Bonnigson (formerly Villman) is the Career and Technical Education (CTE) Resource Teacher at Bethesda-Chevy Chase High School, where she supports the internship, engineering, computer science, child development, and work-based learning programs. She also teaches engineering and is passionate about helping students develop problem-solving skills and confidence through hands-on, real-world design challenges.
Ms. Bonnigson began her teaching career in Ohio in 2005 after earning a Bachelor of Arts in Art Education from the University of Akron. She later earned her Master’s degree in Instructional Technology from the same institution. She joined Montgomery County Public Schools in 2013, teaching studio and digital art at Argyle Middle School for three years, followed by three years teaching computer science at B-CC. She then spent five years teaching computer science at Walter Johnson High School before returning to B-CC in 2024 as the CTE Resource Teacher and engineering instructor.
Outside of school, Ms. Bonnigson enjoys camping, hiking, traveling, painting, drawing, and sculpting. She believes CTE programs empower students to explore their interests, build meaningful skills, and prepare for success in college, careers, and beyond.
Ms. Angela Scears began her career with MCPS in 2000 after transitioning from the Montgomery County Police Department, seeking a more proactive role in supporting youth and education. She earned her Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Maryland and later completed her Educational Leadership Certification at Hood College. Over the course of her 25+ year career, she has taught at various levels across MCPS for 17 years and has served as an administrator for the past 8 years. She is deeply committed to building strong relationships, advancing equity, and maintaining high expectations for all students.
Ms. Scears is a proud mother of two: her daughter, Gabriela, attends Montgomery College, and her son, Marcelo, is studying Culinary Arts at Johnson and Wales University in Providence, Rhode Island. Originally from the Pittsburgh area, Ms. Scears is fluent in Spanish and brings a strong cultural and linguistic perspective to her work. Outside of school, she enjoys cheering on the Steelers, traveling, camping, thrifting, cooking, spending time at the beach, and listening to music. She and her husband share their home with eight cats—not including those they foster—demonstrating their love for animals and commitment to rescue efforts.
