This is a High School Credit Course.
This high school course is for Grade 8 students who are concurrently taking Algebra I and is part of the PLTW Engineering Pathway. This course develops students’ problem-solving skills, with emphasis on visualization and communication skills, using a computer and 3-D solid modeling software. This course emphasizes the development of a design using computer software to produce, analyze, and evaluate models of projects and solutions. Introduction to Digital Media Course Video
Students learn the skills and knowledge needed to understand how to create and operate in the digital media industry, and its impact on our society. Students learn how to pitch, write, develop, and produce content for various digital and social media platforms. Students gain insight through a variety of projects ranging from; oral presentations to interactive presentations, audio and video podcasting, audio recording and editing, and video production basics. TV Studio Course Video
Students in the class will assist in the production of the school's student-run television news program in our digital media suite. Students will have the opportunity to also write, develop, and produce public service announcements, documentaries, and other video projects that are used on the school's website and the student- run news. In this course, we focus on global technology systems and security. Students will take an in-depth look into cybersecurity, examining current threats on the news and explore possible careers in the field. This course provides an engaging introduction to computing concepts through a nationally developed curriculum, offered through a unique partnership with Code.org®. The course focuses on the conceptual ideas of computing so that students understand why tools and languages are used to solve problems. Innovative Art & Design 3 Course Video
Intermediate middle school art class will allow students to build on their prior learning from Studio Art I and design art using various mediums. The developed skills will be used to provide opportunities of self expression. Students begin to learn to communicate orally and in writing in a culturally appropriate manner about topics related to daily life. They interpret basic information when listening and reading. Vocabulary and basic grammatical structures are taught within the context of these familiar topics. Culture is embedded throughout the course.
This is a High School Credit course. Students with language acquisition skills in Spanish will be assessed to find their best Spanish Placement Course. Students learn to communicate orally and in writing in a culturally appropriate manner about topics related to daily life. They interpret basic information when listening and reading. Spanish Literacy provides language instruction for students with some proficiency in Spanish, either because it is their first language or it is spoken in their home. Like the other Spanish-speaker courses, the class integrates history, culture, language, and connections related to the Spanish-speaking world in Spanish. This course is designed for students who have limited native Spanish language literacy, meaning they may be fluent speakers of Spanish, but may or may not read and write in Spanish.

Spanish for Spanish Speakers courses provide language instruction for students with some proficiency in Spanish, either because it is their first language or it is spoken in their home. Each course integrates history, culture, language, and connections related to the Spanish-speaking world. *Students must complete a language assessment for placement in this course.

Spanish for Spanish Speakers II will provide language instruction for students with intermediate proficiency in the Spanish language, having learned it as their first language or regularly spoken in their home. Level II course integrates more history, culture, language, and connections related to the Spanish-speaking world.
This course is for students who have not taken a band course in middle school (elementary experience only or no prior experience is acceptable). Basic instrumental skills are developed by performing a variety of music. Students are taught the elements of musical form, terms and symbols, tone production, instrument care and maintenance, and the importance of consistent practice habits. Emphasis is placed on developing formal rehearsal decorum, following a conductor, and developing pitch and rhythmic security in preparation for performing an independent part in the traditional band ensemble. Students also learn melodic form and construction as they examine and perform more complex folk melodies and melodies from master composers. Instrument options include: Flute, Clarinet, Bass Clarinet, Alto, Tenor, and Bari Saxophones, Trumpet, Trombone, Baritone, Tuba, and Percussion *Music Pathway
Pre-requisite: Students must have completed Band 1
This course is for students with prior middle school band experience. Intermediate instrumental skills are developed by performing a variety of music. Students are taught the elements of musical form, terms and symbols, tone production, instrument care and maintenance, and the importance of consistent practice habits. Emphasis is placed on developing formal rehearsal decorum, following a conductor, and developing pitch and rhythmic security in preparation for performing an independent part in the traditional band ensemble. Previous enrollment in a middle school band class is required. *Music Pathway
This course is for students who have not taken an orchestra course in middle school (elementary experience only or no prior experience is acceptable). Basic instrumental skills are developed by performing a variety of music. Students are taught the elements of musical form, terms and symbols, tone production, instrument care and maintenance, and the importance of consistent practice habits. Emphasis is placed on developing formal rehearsal decorum, following a conductor, and developing pitch and rhythmic security in preparation for performing an independent part in the traditional orchestra ensemble. Students also learn melodic form and construction as they examine and perform more complex folk melodies and melodies from master composers. Instrument options include: violin, viola, cello, and string bass. *Music Pathway

Instrumental Music Course Video
This course is designed for students with a year of experience or more in Theatre, and promotes enjoyment and appreciation for all aspects of theatre through opportunities to build significantly on existing skills. Classwork focuses on characterization, playwriting, and playwrights’ contributions to theatre; while improvisation, creative dramatics, and scene work are used to help students challenge and strengthen their acting skills and explore the technical aspect of scene work.
