PARTNER LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY
All students testing after the 2022-23 school year must achieve a score of "Intermediate High" or higher in EVERY tested domain of the partner language. Composite scores are not a factor.
Please take note of when partner language proficiency testing will be offered each school year.
MCPASD pays for:
ALTA Assessment  (for languages not assessed in the STAMP 4S)
ACTFL Oral Proficiency Interview (OPI) and ACTFL Writing Proficiency Test for the Seal of Biliteracy (for languages not assessed in the STAMP 4S or Alta Assessment)
MCPASD DOES NOT pay for:
AP Language and Culture Exam (AP-eligible languages are able to be assessed with the STAMP 4S)
It is recommended that you test as soon as you believe your proficiency is at Intermediate High or higher in your partner langauge. Consult with your Seal Advisor if you have questions.
ENGLISH LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY
Proficiency in English measured with a qualifying score on one of the following:
ACT English Language Arts assessment: 18 or higher (for native English speakers or students who exited English learner services four or more years ago)
ACCESS for ELLs: composite score of 4.0 (for current English learners or students who exited English learner services fewer than four years ago)
Documentation of qualifying scores in the partner language(s) and English must be uploaded into your Seal of Biliteracy Google folder. These will likely be PDF documents. Be sure the documents clearly state your name and scores.
Please name the documents:
YOUR LAST NAME - Partner Language Proficiency
YOUR LAST NAME - English Language Proficiency
If you have an IEP or 504 plan that includes testing accommodations, please contact your Seal Advisor at least one month prior to any testing.
