Mrs. Reynolds is the lead teacher for 7th grade band, 7th Grade beginning band students, 6th grade beginning band students, 6th & 7th grade jazz band and 5-8 small group instruction. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Minnesota Duluth and her Master's in Music Education from VanderCook College of Music in Chicago. Mrs. Reynolds is in her 17th year of teaching and is thrilled to be starting this school year in person and INSIDE! She is excited to reconnect with all band students and families!
In addition to teaching band, Mrs. Reynolds also assists with the Kromrey WEB (Where Everyone Belongs) program, coaches the Kromrey Ultimate Frisbee Club and coaches the Middleton High School Girls Non-Binary Ultimate team. The Middleton Girls Non-Binary Ultimate Team won the State Tournament last spring! Outside of school, she enjoys spending time with her husband and dog Zorro, playing ultimate, running (has ran 13 marathons, including the Boston Marathon), cross country skiing (skied her first Birkie last February), and paddling/camping/hiking in the BWCA (really anything outdoors).
7th Grade Band - IN PERSON and INDOORS!! We are overjoyed to be able to play in person and INDOORS.
Large Group: All members of the 7th Grade Band will rehearse every other day. The 7th grade band is broken up into 4 different classes of approximately 25 students. For concerts, we will have all 3 classes of returning band students join and perform together and our 1 class of 29 beginners will all get to perform together!
Small Group Instruction: Returning 7th Grade Band musicians will have one of the Kromrey band teachers for small group instruction during advisory (8:20 - 8:40am). Small groups allow students of the same instrument to work with a teacher on techniques specific to their instrument.
7th Grade BEGINNER Band Students: Any student joining band that either hasn't played before or is switching to a new instrument will be a 7th grade band beginner and will get to work with BOTH Mrs. Reynolds and Mrs. Coughlin. We have so many beginners this year, that they are their own class of 29. 7th grade beginners will get to do concerts, just like the 7th graders who are returning band students. We are excited to add new people to our band family and help them develop into budding musicians!
