In this course, vocabulary study is broadened through reading selections and audiovisual materials.  There is a review of basic grammar concepts and an introduction to more advanced grammar.  Speaking, reading, and writing in the language are stressed.  The students read excerpts and complete selections from native authors.  Oral practice is given through oral presentations, Socratic discussions, and the preparation of original conversations.
