GENERAL INFORMATION


Any person (not enrolled in high school) 16 years of age and over may attend. Some courses require trade experience while others have specific prerequisites. License preparation courses have additional criteria as provided in the rules and regulations of the regulatory entity.


ATTENDANCE


Unless otherwise noted, classes meet weekly for three hours per session on days or evenings as noted.

CERTIFICATES: A Certificate of Completion for each course or program is issued to successful completers by Middlesex County Magnet Schools - Adult Education, subject to approval by the instructor and principal, given course or program criteria are met. Additional credentials may be available as part of, or may be attained by a student independently after, course or program completion.


COST: A Course Fee is charged for most courses and programs. A student residing out of Middlesex County is charged a Course Fee plus $50.00; and, certificate programs are an additional 30% of the course fee. Senior citizens (55 years of age and older, not working full time) residing in Middlesex County are charged 80% of the Course Fee and the full amount for other fees. Senior Citizen discounts do not apply to Welding Courses, Adult Certificate and full time programs, or to out-of-county residents. Students are expected to purchase required textbooks and personal protective devices, such as safety glasses with side shields. A set Materials Fee applies to consumable instructional materials, tools, lab use, and tests. A minimal charge applies when projects are made from school supplies and taken home; such as, baked goods and birdhouses. An application fee, when required, is nonrefundable.


INSURANCE


The Board of Education does not pay any medical or hospital bills incurred as a result of an accident to students in the school. Individuals desiring insurance coverage must purchase coverage privately. NOTES: Classes may be cancelled due to weather. Lost time for cancelled classes is neither made up nor subject to refunds. The school reserves the right to cancel, reschedule or combine classes when enrollment is insufficient or other scheduling problems exist.
