CERTIFICATE PROGRAMS

Electrical Technology Certificate Program 

This program prepares the student for entry-level employment within the electrical trades. It is designed for individuals interested in changing careers as well as those who are looking for first time employment in the field. Eight modules include classroom and hands-on instruction, field trips and seminars. Successful completers earn an OSHA card and credit hours earned may be applied to the related instruction component of a registered apprenticeship program. Curriculum includes a program orientation and instruction in the following courses: Multi Craft Basics; Alternating Current Loads; Magnetism, Conductors & Insulators; Motor Controls; Tools & Supports: Electrical; Transformers & Motors; and Electrical Circuits. 

Classes meet Monday through Friday 1-5 PM at the East Brunswick campus. 

Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning 

and Refrigeration Certificate Program 

This program prepares the student for entry-level positions in heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration maintenance. It is designed for individuals interested in changing careers as well as those who are looking to change classifications or acquire new skills within this field. Successful completers earn an OSHA card and Refrigerant Handling certification. Credit hours earned may be applied to the related instruction component of a registered apprenticeship program. Curriculum includes a program orientation and instruction in the following courses: Multi-Craft Basics; AC Basics & Refrigerants; Sheet Metal Basics; Domestic Appliances; Heating Fundamentals, and Principles of Refrigeration. 

Classes meet Monday through Thursday 5-10 PM at the Piscataway campus. 

Plumbing Technology Certificate Program

 This class prepares the student for entry-level employment within the plumbing trades. It is designed for individuals interested in changing careers as well as those who are looking for first time employment in the field. Students participate in classroom and hands-on instruction, field trips and seminars. Successful completers earn an OSHA card and credit hours may be applied to the related instruction component of a registered apprenticeship program. Curriculum includes a program orientation and instruction in the following courses: Multi-Craft Basics; AC Basics & Refrigerants; Pumps & Transit; Drainage In Single Family Dwellings; Plumbing A House & Inspections; Potable Water & Appliances; and Tools & Supports: Plumbing. 

Classes meet Monday through Thursday 12-5 PM at the Piscataway campus.
