Taking Care of Students & Families:
Transfers • Transitions • Academic Programs • Extracurricular • Support & Resources
McKinney ISD is committed to providing families with clear, supportive guidance as they explore school options within our district. Whether you are considering a transfer request, navigating the Choose McKinney process, or simply seeking more information about our campuses, this form is designed to help answer your most common questions. Our goal is to ensure that every student and family feels informed as they make the best educational choice for their needs. Submit all questions through our Taking Care of Students & Families webpage.
Choose McKinney ISD is only available for rising K-8 grade students. All student transfer decisions are based on campus availability and annual enrollment
We encourage our Naomi Press Community to be informed and involved in any and all EFAC updates. While we are a larger elementary school campus that is not directly impacted by the recent announments of re-purposing Eddins, McNeil, and Wolford Elementaries, the next phase of district restructuring WILL greatly impact the attendance zones and/or various programming throughout the district. PRESS ELEMENTARY WILL BE AFFECTED.
We encourage our Press community to be as informed and as tuned in as possible. We welcome input and advocates for our Press Pride community.

Hello Press Elementary Families!
Welcome to a brand-new school year at Press Elementary — where every child shines and every family belongs!
As your PTA President, I’m so excited to begin this journey with all of you — new families, returning families, and everyone in between. Our school is more than just classrooms and books — it’s a community built on heart, teamwork, and a shared belief in our children’s potential.
At the core of it all is our incredible leadership team. We’re deeply thankful for the guidance and dedication of Principal - Mrs.Corbin, Assistant Principal -Mrs.Cotton , and Press amazing staff — from our teachers and aides to our custodians and front office team. Their passion, care, and daily commitment to every child’s success inspire us all. They don’t just support our kids — they lift them up.
This year, the PTA is here to strengthen the bridge between home and school. We’re planning joyful events, meaningful initiatives, and opportunities for every parent to get involved — no matter how big or small your schedule allows. Whether you're donating time, sharing ideas, or simply showing up, you are helping shape something truly special.
Let’s celebrate, collaborate, and create memories that last. Together, we can make this school year one to remember — for all the right reasons.
With gratitude and excitement,
Urvashi Sinha

Welcome to McKinney ISD’s Community Folder. The Community Folder is the electronic communications where school related, non-school related and non-profit organizations may post their information that may be of interest or benefit of students and parents. A critical ingredient in the safe school recipe is the uniform classroom response to any incident. Weather events, fires, accidents, intruders and other threats to student safety are scenarios that are planned and trained for by all McKinney ISD schools and District Administration and staff. Historically, schools have taken this scenario-based approach to respond to hazards and threats. Each McKinney ISD classroom is furnished with the Standard Response Protocol poster that provides teachers with readily accessible response procedures and provides information during a crisis event. The attached handout explains Standard Response Protocol that is taught to students, faculty and staff.

Tip411 is a new tool to enhance student safety. It is an internet-based communication system that gives students or any concerned citizen a means to quickly and anonymously report suspicious or criminal behavior at school.
Please note: tip411 is not a substitute for calling the Police Department to report any in-progress incident. If an immediate response is needed, please dial 9-1-1 in cases of emergency or 972-547-2700 if no emergency exists.

Please allow enough time to get through the carpool line so your child can be in their classroom, ready to learn by 8:10AM. Due to staff needing to supervise students, the back doors will close and lock at 8:00AM.
Students arriving after 8:00AM will need to go through the front main doors.
Students arriving after 8:10AM will also be marked tardy.
Busers - Bus riders will utilize the front drive for dropping off students. Students deboarding the bus will be directed towards the front main doors.

Breakfast - If eating breakfast, students should go directly to the cafeteria upon arrival during the 7:40-8:05 time period to pick up breakfast before heading to their

For students not choosing to have breakfast, students must directly report to grade level classroom areas as assigned by teachers and follow grade level procedures.
Morning Drop Off (8:00-8:09 AM):

If you wish to change your child’s dismissal routine for any reason., you must complete the transportation change request form (located on Press website, as well as in the weekly school newsletters) and indicate the change in routine by 2:35 PM. We value safety and want to honor your request. However, if you do not submit your child’s dismissal change request prior to 2:30PM to change the routine, your child will likely be dismissed as per regular routine.
Late Pickups:
Students must be picked up by 3:20 PM. If you are unable to pick up by 3:20 PM, on-site child care is available through MISD’s Club 360 and multiple child care facilities provide transportation directly from school. Unfortunately, Press staff is not readily available to supervise students who are left past dismissal. Due to staff not being available to supervise students not picked up on time, the McKinney police department may be contacted to provide appropriate supervision of students left at school with no parent or guardian. Of course, if you have an extenuating circumstance, please call ahead to alert the front office staff and contact the classroom teacher. We will do our best to accommodate occasional extenuating situations.

Your
Press Leadership
Rachel Corbin
I am very thrilled to lead the Press community and appreciate this opportunity to continue to grow with Press pride as the school principal. I bring with me 27 years of educational experience, with 13 years of administrative leadership. I was taught as a young girl to always work to the best of my abilities and to do so responsibly and honorably. With teaching and learning, I've experienced that growth entails a combination of trying and failing, reflecting and refining, and trying again and growing... and all in the collaboration of students, colleagues, and the community. The honor to be a part of the distinct educators of Press Elementary is immeasurable, and I am so eager to learn with and from the best of MISD!
Rachel Cotton
I am honored to be a member of the Press Pride administration team for a sixth year. I continue to be excited about working at the "best school in the universe" with the best community in the universe! A quality education is essential to success in life and every student deserves the opportunity to learn. As a servant leader, I am motivated to ensure that all students have the necessary support and tools for success, no matter their situation or circumstance. I am committed to empowering all members of the learning community. Thank you in advance for collaborating with me and my colleagues to ensure quality academic growth and a successful school year!
