Dear Press Pride Families and Friends,
Get ready to SHIMMER because the 2025–2026 school year is about to sparkle with possibility! Our Press Pride staff has been working hard long before the recent MISD Staff Academy days, creating dynamic learning environments and refreshing our school spaces. They’ve been exploring innovative ways to connect with our students, and we can’t wait to share all the magical things we have in store for our Pride this year.
This year’s theme is Press makes the world SHIMMER! We believe every student, staff member, and family plays a unique role in making our community shine, and we’re ready to make this year truly unforgettable.
A huge thank you to all the parents and families who joined us for our Meet the Teacher Night on Thursday, August 7th. Your presence and support help set the tone for a warm, welcoming start to the year.
Please take a moment to check out the information in this newsletter. You’ll find important dates and times for the start of the school year, as well as details about our arrival and dismissal procedures. We've also linked our Parent Information and Handbook, which answers many common questions.
Parents, together as partners, we can create a true star-quality experience for our Pride! The Press PTA is an essential part of our success, providing a unique partnership that benefits our students, staff, and Press families. You can see their impact throughout the year across our campus. If you’re interested in volunteering, joining, or serving on the PTA Board, please reach out to naomipresspta@gmail.com.
Mark your calendar—First Day of School is Tuesday, August 12, 2025! Doors will open at 7:40 AM.
With great excitement, Press is ready for a shimmering year of teaching, learning, relationships, and memories.
We are the PRIDE of MISD! Let’s Press On and sparkle together!
With great respect,
Rachel Corbin and Rachel Cotton

Dear Parents,
Our campus is committed to providing parents with efficient access to our online library catalog. The Destiny online library catalog can be viewed any time by logging into the parent SSO portal. In response to Senate Bill 13, we are enabling automatic email notifications for parents to view what their student has checked out from the Destiny library catalog if there is checkout activity during the school day. Additionally, S.B. 13 includes the right for parents to block access to specific titles within the online Destiny catalog for their student.
If you would like to access your student’s library account to view what they have checked out, review their checkout history, or block them from accessing specific books, please visit the Parent Library Access Tool page located on the MISD Library Services website. If you would like to review specific policies related to library materials, please refer to MISD board policy EFB Local.
If you have questions or would like to provide feedback on library materials and services, please contact our campus Library Media Specialist Tracy Bulot via email tbulot@mckinneyisd.net.

Hello Press Elementary Families!
Welcome to a brand-new school year at Press Elementary — where every child shines and every family belongs!
As your PTA President, I’m so excited to begin this journey with all of you — new families, returning families, and everyone in between. Our school is more than just classrooms and books — it’s a community built on heart, teamwork, and a shared belief in our children’s potential.
At the core of it all is our incredible leadership team. We’re deeply thankful for the guidance and dedication of Principal - Mrs.Corbin, Assistant Principal -Mrs.Cotton , and Press amazing staff — from our teachers and aides to our custodians and front office team. Their passion, care, and daily commitment to every child’s success inspire us all. They don’t just support our kids — they lift them up.
This year, the PTA is here to strengthen the bridge between home and school. We’re planning joyful events, meaningful initiatives, and opportunities for every parent to get involved — no matter how big or small your schedule allows. Whether you're donating time, sharing ideas, or simply showing up, you are helping shape something truly special.
Let’s celebrate, collaborate, and create memories that last. Together, we can make this school year one to remember — for all the right reasons.
With gratitude and excitement,
Urvashi Sinha

McKinney ISD is thrilled to unveil our new mobile app, designed to keep you seamlessly connected and informed. With features like live feed, news updates, and event information, the app ensures you're always up-to-date with the latest district news and activities.
Welcome to McKinney ISD’s Community Folder. The Community Folder is the electronic communications where school related, non-school related and non-profit organizations may post their information that may be of interest or benefit of students and parents. The information here has been submitted to and approved by the McKinney ISD Communications Department. Check back often for the latest opportunities and information from our community. A critical ingredient in the safe school recipe is the uniform classroom response to any incident. Weather events, fires, accidents, intruders and other threats to student safety are scenarios that are planned and trained for by all McKinney ISD schools and District Administration and staff. Historically, schools have taken this scenario-based approach to respond to hazards and threats. Each McKinney ISD classroom is furnished with the Standard Response Protocol poster that provides teachers with readily accessible response procedures and provides information during a crisis event. The attached handout explains Standard Response Protocol that is taught to students, faculty and staff.
Please this link to view the Standard Response Protocol parent information.
Tip411 is a new tool to enhance student safety. It is an internet-based communication system that gives students or any concerned citizen a means to quickly and anonymously report suspicious or criminal behavior at school.
Please note: tip411 is not a substitute for calling the Police Department to report any in-progress incident. If an immediate response is needed, please dial 9-1-1 in cases of emergency or 972-547-2700 if no emergency exists.

Press Leadership
Rachel Corbin
I am very thrilled to lead the Press community and appreciate this opportunity to continue to grow with Press pride as the school principal. I bring with me 27 years of educational experience, with 13 years of administrative leadership. I was taught as a young girl to always work to the best of my abilities and to do so responsibly and honorably. With teaching and learning, I've experienced that growth entails a combination of trying and failing, reflecting and refining, and trying again and growing... and all in the collaboration of students, colleagues, and the community. The honor to be a part of the distinct educators of Press Elementary is immeasurable, and I am so eager to learn with and from the best of MISD!
Rachel Cotton
I am honored to be a member of the Press Pride administration team for a sixth year. As a servant leader, I am motivated to ensure that all students have the necessary support and tools for success, no matter their situation or circumstance. I am committed to empowering all members of the learning community. Thank you in advance for collaborating with me and my colleagues to ensure quality academic growth and a successful school year!
