LEARNING COMMONS SCHEDULE
Students in Kindergarten attend a weekly story time in the Learning Commons along with book checkout. First grade starts the school year with a weekly visit and then transitions to checking out books as needed or during their ELAR stations. Second, third, fourth and fifth grade students visit the learning commons as needed and/or in ELAR stations to browse and check out books of personal interest as well as informational books which support classroom units of study. Throughout the year classes schedule times to participate in research, technology and apps trainings. Makerspace and Readerspace are open to all students each week.
MAKERSPACE
READERSPACE
Makerspace is open on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday each week. Makerspace includes a variety of STEAM Activities and Challenges. Students have the opportunity to build, create, problem solve and code.
Readerspace is also open Monday, Tuesday and Thursdays. Readerspace focuses on literacy based STEAM tasks as well as promotes literacy through activities that include digitally publishing stories, creating book recommendations, exploring digital resources and reading/listening to eBooks.
