Substitutes must wear their ID badges to every assignment. Badges are issued at the new substitute orientation.

Substitutes are eligible to enroll in the McKinney ISD health insurance offered through TRS-ActiveCare.
Substitutes enrolled in health insurance are responsible for the full premium. First full premium payment must be submitted at the time of enrollment. Premium payments for subsequent months are due by the 15th of the month prior to the month of coverage.

The direct deposit form is processed by the Payroll department, and it is available at https://www.mckinneyisd.net/business-finance/ in the Payroll Calendars & Forms section.
A form is completed at the time of hire. A new form is required to request changing the financial institution for payroll direct deposit.

MISD uses a Single Sign On (SSO) for all MISD programs (email, TCP, Vector, ESS, etc).
Follow the steps below IF:
you cannot log into MISD websites or programs, or
your MISD password expired.
Go to www.mckinneyisd.net
Click on the SSO link (upper right corner)
Log into SSO using your MISD ID# and password. *TYPE IN your information; DON'T use the auto-fill).
If your password needs resetting, you will be prompted to do so.
Use that new password to log into MISD programs.
If the SSO login page does not prompt you to update your password, and you continue to get the "invalid credentials" message, please contact the MISD Technology Help Desk for assistance at support@mckinneyisd.net or 469-302-4048.

Substituting long-term is defined as fifteen (15) or more consecutive days in the same assignment.

For question regarding paycheck discrepancies, please contact FIRST the campus substitute coordinator.
AFTER confirming with the campus that all the information for the assignment in question is correct in TimeClock Plus (TCP), contact Payroll (payroll@mckinneyisd.net) for review.
Substitutes must sign up for payroll direct deposit. The Payroll department issues Direct Deposit Notifications via email every pay date and it includes check details in a password protected attachment.
The notifications are sent to substitute's MISD email address with the subject line "Attached is your direct deposit advice".

Substitutes are paid twice a month, on the 15th and the last day of each moth.
Assignments worked between the 1st and 15th of the month are paid on the last day of the month.
Assignments worked between the 16th and last day of the month are paid on the 15th of the following month.
Current substitutes returning the following school year MUST complete the reactivation process.
All substitutes received an email with information and instructions to complete the following:
LORA - Letter of Reasonable Assurance
Handbook receipt acknowledgment
Vector compliance training
Current substitutes who don't complete the reactivation process by the established deadline are terminated, but may be welcome to reapply.

McKinney ISD implemented the use of a Single Sign On (SSO) system to reduce the number of passwords that staff, students, and parents had to create and remember to log into different MISD applications.
SSO allows staff, students, and parents to log into MISD applications with their MISD network User ID and Password.
W4 Form - The Employee’s Withholding Certificate is the form the district needs to withhold the correct federal income tax from your pay. This form is handled by the Payroll department, and it is available at https://www.mckinneyisd.net/business-finance/ under the Payroll Calendars & Forms section. For assistance please contact payroll@mckinneyisd.net.
W2 Form - The Wage and Tax Statement is the form that reflects an employee's income earned and taxes withheld from the prior year to be reported on the employee's income tax returns. The Payroll department issues electronic W2 forms for each employee by the end of January and delivers them via email.
W2 forms are also available through Employee Self Service, under the Pay/Tax Information tab, by clicking on W2, selecting the Year, and clicking on View W2 Image. Click Here to see the a step-by-step guide to view and print your W2 form.

McKinney ISD employees, including substitutes, who are injured while working, should report the injury to the campus nurse before leaving for the day. If the campus nurse is not available, employees may reach out to Heather Davidson, HR Specialist – Leave/Workers’ Compensation at 469-302-4102 or hdavidson@mckinneyisd.net.
Employees should report injuries even if medical treatment is not required.
