The following information answers most Frequently Asked Questions.
The employment application is a three-step process.
1) Register as a New User
If you have never submitted any type of application (employment or volunteer) you must register as a new user to create a User ID and a Password.
Once completed, you will receive an email notification confirming you have registered.
2) Complete and Submit an application
Login to start and submit an application https://webserv.mckinneyisd.net/workspace/ for the appropriate category (e.g., professional, paraprofessional, etc.). This is the form in which you provide all your personal and professional information, work history, references, documentation (e.g., resume, transcripts), etc.
Once completed, you will receive an email notification confirming your application was submitted.
3) Apply for specific open positions
After submitting an application, you may apply for position listed in the job postings. This will include your name and application record in a list for the administrator who has that specific vacancy.
Select the type appropriate to the position for which you are applying (see list below).
If you wish to apply for positions in more than one category, choose one to complete and submit at this time, and come back to complete the other(s). Common information and documents between the applications will be stored, so you will not have to re-enter it.
Administrative - Principal, Associate Principal, Assistant Principal, Director, Coordinator and other administrative staff.
Professional - Teacher, Librarian, Counselor, Specialist, Licensed Specialist in School Psychology, Diagnostician, Speech Language Pathologist, Occupational Therapist, Physical Therapist, Athletic Trainer, Paid Tutor, Technology Professionals.
Paraprofessional - Secretarial, Clerical, Bookkeeping, Accounting, Technology Support, Classroom Aide, AVID Tutor.
Auxiliary - Maintenance, Grounds, Central Distribution, Security and Transportation, Crossing Guards.
Substitute - Select this option if you are applying for Substitute employment.
Volunteer - School Volunteers (e.g., parents), REACH Mentors, Student Teachers, Observers, Private Teachers, Contracted Services.
Voluntarios de la Escuela - Voluntarios de la Escuela (e.g., padres), REACH mentores, maestros estudiantes, observadores, Docentes Particulares, Servicios Contratados.

Hiring administrators have access to all active applications and to a list of those who applied for the specific positions they have open.
Applicants are welcome to contact hiring administrators directly. Most postings indicate the job campus of department. For jobs posted as districtwide, applicants may contact the campus of their preference.
Log in with the User ID and Password created when registered.

All job openings are on the website and remain posted until the positions are filled. We encourage applicants to monitor the job postings page as it changes frequently.
Hiring administrators manage the openings for which they are responsible; they directly select, contact, and interview applicants. Once they choose the candidate to fill a position, they submit a recommendation to hire to Human Resources.
Human Resources processes the recommendation to hire and contacts the candidate to make the offer of employment.
Compensation information is available on the website at https://www.mckinneyisd.net/human-resources/compensation/.
Job postings salary section indicates the Pay Grade and Days which can be referenced on the compensation page. See the Tips section of this site for an example.
Only after a candidate is recommended for hiring, HR Specialists will calculate the specific salary based on available documentation (e.g., service records, transcripts, etc.) and the actual contract days (hire date).
Employment applications remain in active pools for six months. Applicants are encouraged to review their application dates and resubmit those that are older than six months, if still interested in positions which require that application type.

Please note that files may NOT be larger than six (6) megabytes and only the following file types/extensions are allowed to upload: HTML (.htm or .html); PDF (.pdf); rich text (.rtf); and text (.txt).
Word (.doc/.docx) files are NOT accepted.
Uploading WHILE completing an application.
Although It is best to include all the supporting documents from the start, the system allows to submit an application without some of them. However, documents should be uploaded at the earliest opportunity to ensure hiring administrators have all the information needed when considering applicants.
Uploading AFTER submitting an application.
Pending, updated, or new documents may be added to existing applications without having to resubmit it. Log into your application record and click on the Manage Documents section to view all the documents you have submitted, and to upload additional ones.
