A LITTLE ABOUT ME:  

I absolutely LOVE Burks Elementary! This will be my 22nd year in education and my 17th year as a school counselor. I taught middle school in Irving, TX for 3 years and also at Guyer High School in Denton, TX for 2 years. I was a middle school counselor in Denton, TX for 4 years before heading over to McKinney ISD! This is my 13th year at Burks Elementary and it is the best school in the WORLD! I love helping children work through their struggles, and also helping them find out what their strengths are so they can become leaders in the school. My advice to anyone, is to be thankful for what you have and also take away something positive from every situation (whether it is a good or bad situation). We all have obstacles, but it is how you face those obstacles that shows your true character! Be kind to everyone and remember to SMILE…because it is contagious!

Values or Value Statement: Kindness and connections are instrumental in the culture of our school! I want everyone to feel loved and connected the second they enter our doors.

Family: I have been married for 18 years and have an 10 year old son and a 7 year old daughter. They are both with me at Burks!:) My husband is a first responder and he volunteers for our 4th & 5th grade Career Day and a fire safety presentation for our kinder and 1st grade classes!:) 

Fun Facts: I love to travel! In College, I studied abroad and lived in London, England. I also played the guitar and sang in London at an open mic night and people asked if I was Shania Twain!:) I play in a little country band whenever we can get together to pick and grin! Entertaining people and making people laugh brings me so much joy!:)
