Sora is our FREE digital library full of thousands of amazing eBooks and Audiobooks for you to read!  You can access Sora through SSO, or by downloading the Sora app to your personal device.

As long as you are enrolled in MISD, you have access to these amazing books. See the directions below to learn more about accessing and using Sora.

To access Sora from your laptop:

• From "Student Bookmarks" in Chrome, click on "MISD Portal Single Sign-On."

• Scroll down until you see "Sora." It will have the same icon as the one at the top of this page.

• Click on "Sora," and you are automatically logged in!

  • To search for books, click on "Explore" at the bottom of the page. Click on the magnifying glass in the top right corner to "Search." You can search by author, title, or subject. You can also browse books on the "Explore" page that are sorted into special categories like, "Series Starters," "Page to Screen," and "Seriously Funny!"

  • Clicking on "Shelf" at the bottom of the page will allow you to see the books you currently have checked out, as well as the books you've placed in a "List" and books you've placed on hold in "Holds." "History" will give you a list of all of the books you've checked out in Sora in the past.

  • You can check out up to three eBooks and Audiobooks at a time by clicking on "Borrow" next to the book. Books will return automatically after three weeks, or you can manually return them from your "Shelf."

  • If a book is already checked out, you can click "Place Hold" next to the book to reserve your spot in line.

  • To read a book in Sora on your laptop, click on "Open book" or "Open audiobook." The book will open in your browser page for you to read or listen. Sora will automatically remember the place where you left off, and reopen to that spot when you return to your book.
