To graduate from Father McGivney Catholic High School, students must earn a minimum of 26 units of credit. Twenty-four of these credits must be earned in academic areas. A minimum of two semesters of Fine Arts, one semester of Health Education, and seven semesters of Physical Education are required.
Beginning with the Class of 2025, students must complete a Job Shadow during their Junior school year in a career which they might be interested in pursuing. The Job Shadow can occur at any time from the summer prior to Junior year through the entire Junior school year, but must be completed before the last school day of the student’s Junior year. Information on the Job Shadow will be sent by Mr. Wilder in June as he oversees the job shadowing requirement and can answer questions for students and parents.

Coursework required for the College Preparatory Diploma include: 28 Credit Hours with 26 of those being the above mentioned requirements, successful completion of three Dual Credit or AP courses with a 'C' or better. Honors Calculus can be substituted for one of the three Dual Credit or AP Course requirements

*A student must pass a test on the Illinois State as well as the federal Constitutions to graduate.**An ACT or SAT score is required to graduate from FMCHS.***Per State regulations, all students are required to complete 2 Credits of writing intensive classes, Algebra I and Geometry for graduation.
