The East and West 6th, 7th, and 8th Grade Bands will share the stage for a collaborative demonstration of their skills, culminating in a megaband piece incorporating ALL of McDowell County's Middle School Band students into one performance.
May 7th, 2026 - Thursday - Solo and Ensemble Music Performance Adjudication (SEMPA)
Select students will take an afternoon/evening field trip by bus to Apple Valley Middle School to perform either solo or with other musicians as a small ensemble for a judge in order to receive a rating and useful critique. Click Here for more information on SEMPA.

Please update your calendar as the school district scheduled the MEC/MAI graduation ceremony over our concert reservation, necessitating a change of our concert date. The school district thanks you for your flexibility.
This end-of-the-year concert is a celebration of our students' discipline and skill through meaningfully arranged popular music. This will feature ALL BAND STUDENTS and cap off the year with a bang!
