Welcome to the Reading Room!
My name is Natalie Schadl. I am very excited to teach reading at Roosevelt. Books and reading are two of my passions. My ultimate goal as a reading teacher is to inspire my students to foster a love for reading. I look forward to sharing many fiction and nonfiction books with them. Through the magic of BOOKS, we will open doors to far off places, experience interesting cultures around the world, learn about intriguing animals, and meet many fun-loving characters!
McDonald is the place that I call HOME! I grew up in McDonald and graduated from McDonald High School in 1990. Currently, I live in McDonald with my husband, Tom, and our youngest son, Dominic. Our oldest son, Tommy, graduated from MHS in 2018. He lives in Cleveland, Ohio, and works as a coach and personal trainer at CrossFit Cliffside. Dominic is a senior at MHS. He plays football and runs track for the Blue Devils. The canine members of our family are a wild Weimaraner duo: Mya Rose and Enzo Valentino.
My journey as an educator began in 1995 when I proudly graduated from Youngstown State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education. I completed my Reading Recovery Training in 2010 through The Ohio State University. Then, in 2012, I graduated from Gannon University with a Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction. Through the years, I have taught computers, sixth grade, fifth grade, third grade, second grade, and Reading Recovery. I feel deeply blessed to be part of an outstanding school district and to have had such an awesome career filled with many amazing colleagues and students that have impacted my life in countless ways.
