Hendricks County Chambers in partnership with HCN/MADE are proposing the development of Next Gen Chamber student organizations in our local schools. The Next Gen Chamber opportunity will align with upcoming diploma changes to give local employers and schools an opportunity to strengthen partnerships.

High school students will have the opportunity to attend local chamber meetings throughout the year free of charge. The benefits to the students would be:

1. Career Exploration: Students can learn about different industries, job roles, and career paths by interacting with professionals.

2. Professional Networking: They can begin building a professional network, which may lead to internships, mentorships, or future job opportunities.

3. Skill Development: Attending these events helps students develop soft skills such as communication, public speaking, and business etiquette.

4. Community Engagement: Students can better understand the local business landscape and how they can contribute to their community's growth.

5. Professional Development: One event hosted at the school by the local chamber director each semester. Some ideas may include: interview practice, resume writing, soft skills development, dress for success, networking best practices.

By participating in these events, high school students gain early exposure to professional environments, helping to build talent pipelines, reduce brain drain, and contribute to a thriving community.
