Care & Maintenance
Below are reminders and tips of how to best care for and take care of your Chromebook device.
No food or drink should be near the device.
Cords, cables, and removable storage must be inserted carefully into the device.
Devices should not be used or stored near pets, water or other liquid, food, and weather.
Devices must remain free of any writing, drawing, stickers, labels, etc.
Heavy objects should never be placed on top of devices.
Never swap or share devices. Each student is responsible for their assigned device.
The device should remain secured or attended at all times.
Never expose a device to long-term temperature extremes or direct sunlight. An automobile is not a good place to store a device.
Each student will be issued a protective case that should be used for storage and transportation of the device at all times.
Always transport devices with care and inside the issued case.
Do not place textbooks on the device or inside issued case.
Do not stuff the device in a book bag; extreme pressure on the device can cause permanent damage to the screen and other components.
Never open the device by pushing on the screen.
Never pick up the device with the screen open.
Never leave the device in a car or bus. (Extreme temperatures can damage the battery.)
Students attending or participating in physical education class and/or extracurricular activities should leave devices in their lockers, which must be locked, when not in use.
Students attending or participating in activities outside of school should exercise extreme caution to protect the device from harm. Students are liable for all damages and theft.
Never throw or slide your device.
Each device has a unique identification number and at no time should the numbers or labels be modified or removed.
The device is designed for daily use; therefore, each device must be charged and ready for use each school day. All devices should be charged at home.
The device and bag must remain free of stickers, writing, painting, or any other forms of adornment.
