Heart Safe designation
We are excited to share that Yoder Learning Center has officially received the Heart Safe School Designation, an important recognition that reflects our commitment to the health and safety of our students and staff.
This achievement would not have been possible without the incredible dedication of our school nurse, Holly, who worked tirelessly to make this happen. Holly organized a committee, coordinated planning efforts, led emergency drills, and partnered with local EMS and other professionals to ensure our building meets the standards required for this certification.
Thanks to her leadership and hard work, our school is now one of the few in our area to earn this designation.

The Champaign County Board of Developmental Disabilities welcomed our Yoder Learning Center staff to The Tech Hub! They toured the space to explore new technology and tools to support their students, led by Mark Glunt, SSA and Tech Hub Lead. These tech tools have the capability to benefit the full range of our student population in a variety of ways!

voices in color, art show
The Yoder Learning Center recently hosted its very first 'Voices in Color' Art Show, led by Ms. Bailey’s high school classroom in collaboration with Kelly Jeter. The event showcased a variety of student artwork featuring different artistic techniques.
This special event highlighted the creativity, individuality, and self-expression of students who are largely non-verbal, demonstrating the many ways students can communicate their thoughts, interests, and personalities through art.
Families and staff had the opportunity to celebrate the students’ hard work and accomplishments together!

Yoder Learning Center recently hosted a Bowling Fundraiser to support something incredibly special, an adaptive playground for our students!
It was an evening full of laughter, teamwork, friendly competition, and community spirit. All while raising funds to help create a playground where every child can play, explore, and belong. We are so grateful to everyone who bowled, donated, volunteered, and cheered Yoder Learning Center on. Your support brings us one step closer to making this inclusive space a reality.
Together, we are building more than a playground; we are building opportunities, access, and joy.
