Counseling Advisory Council
Use of Implementation Cycle
The primary focus of the Counseling Advisory Council Committee is to ensure the implementation of a Comprehensive School Counseling Program that effectively addresses the unique needs of the campus. Additionally, the committee reviews the efficacy of the Campus Improvement Plan (CIP) in alignment with the Counseling Campus Program Plan.
During the initial meeting, the committee engaged in a thorough review and modification of the CIP from the previous year, ensuring its continued relevance for the upcoming school year. This process involved utilizing the insights gathered from the Parent Climate Survey, Student Climate Survey, and Staff Survey to establish current goals for Social-Emotional Learning.
At this inaugural meeting, the school counselor presented the topics for Guidance Lessons outlined in the Counseling Scope and Sequence. The referral process to specific counseling resources, provided by the campus and district through Social Workers and the Family Treatment Program, was also discussed. Valuable recommendations from parents surfaced, emphasizing the need for updates to our websites and other social media platforms to better align with current events on campus.
