Hola, I am one of the Middle School Spanish instructors in the Language Department at MBS, where I have had the privilege of teaching for the past six years. In the summer of 2023, I participated in the MBS Service Trip to the Dominican Republic, where I witnessed firsthand the transformative power of service and cultural exchange. Most recently, I served as one of the lead chaperones for the 2024 Costa Rica trip, guiding students through an immersive experience in its vibrant communities, diverse ecosystems, and breathtaking landscapes. I am also excited to serve as one of the chaperones for the upcoming Service Trip to Panama this June. I look forward to continuing to create opportunities for connection and cultural understanding both in and beyond the classroom.
Lisa Swanson has been teaching in the history department for 18 years. As a 6th-grade geography teacher, Mrs. Swanson empowers her students to engage with the world actively by learning about diverse cultures, perspectives, and challenges beyond their local community. She is excited to experience Costa Rica and its environment and people with our students.
