Google Meet can be used to livestream a lesson or presentation

This is a one-way transmission where students can view the lesson, but cannot directly interact with the teacher

Tips to remember

A livestream can be used as an extremely powerful tool, however it can also become very dry for the students.

Below are some tips to keep your audience engaged in the video call:

  • Dialogue during lessons

  • Discussion starters

  • Interact through chat using Slides Q&A or a shared Google Doc

Setting up a Google Meet

  • Go to Google Calendar

  • Create a new calendar event

  • Click Add Google Meet video conferencing

Add a Livestreameam

  • Select Add live stream in the Google Calendar event

  • Share this link with your audience

This will allow the audience to view the live stream but will not be able interact
