About the Project
Harrison is working to re-imagine their streets to better accommodate residents and visitors of all ages and abilities and enhance the Town’s position as a vibrant, transit-oriented, walkable community. Harrison Streets for All will create a Complete Streets policy that sets goals and expectations for the planning, design, and implementation of future street projects. A graphical street design guide will also be produced containing specific recommendations and implementation steps.
This project is funded through the NJTPA’s Planning for Emerging Centers Program which provides technical assistance to municipalities to create more sustainable, transit-supportive, and walkable communities.
Project Purpose:
Evaluate the mobility needs of Harrison’s residents of all ages and abilities
Identify ways to make Harrison streets more active, functional, and safe
Enhance Harrison’s position as a vibrant, transit-oriented, and walkable community
Develop design guidance to support Complete Streets implementation
Produce a Complete Streets policy or ordinance
