February 2021 Impact Report

February was certainly an interesting weather month. As some like to refer to it, a “second winter” after a stretch of great spring weather. We enjoyed the many fundraisers and volunteer events we took part in. The response to our new vegan menu has been wonderful. If you haven’t tried it yet, I highly recommend it.

On Wed. Feb. 10th, we hosted the Davenport HS Cheer group for a fundraiser. Glad to see all those people supporting their school. Thanks to all who came out.

This delicious donated lunch fed the 35-40 workers and volunteers assisting with the Schertz vaccine clinic on Thurs. Feb. 11 at the Schertz Civic Center. We sure do appreciate all the volunteers helping out our community.

We also blessed the Selma City Council with a hot meal before their meeting that same night.

Happy Valentine’s Day from Mattenga’s!! We intended on making heart shaped pizzas just for you, but that was before the snow arrived to spoil the day/week. Hope everyone still had a wonderful day!

We donated boxes to Garden Ridge Elementary the week after the big freeze for their pizza fractions project. Looks like they had a great time.

On Feb. 26, we had a special request from a customer to create a “baby shark” shaped pizza for their child’s birthday. Our lead at the O”Connor store rocked that design! Way to go Mikey!!!

As February ends, we want to thank everyone for their patience and support during the “Great Freeze of 2021”. While it’s certainly not something we want to do again, it was a learning experience on what we can improve on.

During the whole month of March, we hope you’ll participate in “The Taste” sponsored by our Chamber and stop by to enjoy something good at our place. See you soon! The website for more information is https://www.thechamber.info/pages/TheTaste.
