Using Materials with Integrity

Analyze the range of cognitive demand levels of tasks within a unit or depth-of-knowledge on an assessment. 

Anticipate (or analyze a set of) student work from a Screener Assessment, then review the Screener Implementation Guide to explore ways of providing further support within or in advance of regular grade-level instruction.

Examine the development of procedural fluency from conceptual understanding across the year and/or across the grades. Determine the role of Bridges sessions, Number Corner Days, and Work Places in developing fluency. 

Use the “category” and “topic” filters to search our curated articles and podcasts for resources that build understanding of various evidence-based mathematics teaching practices. Analyze a portion of the materials with an eye on student learning opportunities (e.g., development of particular content, practices, and processes) and instructional supports for the ambitious MTPs.
