Rice Bowl Almsgivning due.
Stations of the Cross 10:15 in the Church
12:00 dismissal 11:45 for K.
Tuesday is gym day for K - KA's gym class starts promptly at 8. Please have your child in class prior to 8 so that they do not miss the class. They need to unpack, etc. before we go. We usually leave for gym about 7:55.
Students should not wear jewelry to school, especially on Gym days. Bracelets, necklaces and dangling earrings may get caught in students' clothing, fingers, etc. as they play games (both in the gym and at outdoor play). This may cause the jewelry to break or an injury to your child or others.
If you would like to help at lunch by volunteering your time for one lunch session or more, please let Ms. Unger or Ms. Kane know. They can lead you through the clearance process.
About Birthdays
If you want to share your child's birthday with the class, we currently have 18 students - 10 boys and 8 girls. Please distribute birthday invitations privately. It can be difficult for other students to understand why they are not being included.
The restrictions for sending in food products may apply. A safer choice is to send in a small game, or toy or "party favor" instead of food.
Money - Use the following procedure for turning in all money:
Put money in an envelope, or some sort of holder. Look at the Dollar Store for a small change-type purse that can be reused, especially for the milk money. It is difficult for children to keep track of their quarters, etc. even with reminders to put the money into their lunch boxes.
Mark the envelope clearly with student’s name, grade, room number, amount of money and the purpose for the money.
WARNING: I WILL NOT ACCEPT MONEY THAT IS NOT IN AN ENVELOPE WITH YOUR CHILD'S NAME AND THE PURPOSE OF THE MONEY.

Chapter 11 Subtraction
Some students are having difficulty switching from addition to subtraction. Help reinforce subtraction . Point our instances when they have a quantity of something and then, they lose some, eat some, put some away and that the quantities that they have now are less.
You can log onto the Illuminations (NCTM) (nctm.org/illuminations) (Click on Interactives, grade band K-2, Numbers and Operations) website and work on the "Five Frame" and "Ten Frame" activities. They develop subitizing and missing addend concepts.
This is the song we're going to sing for this year's Christmas sing-a-long. Please play this video for your child to help them learn it.
This is a self-affirmation song we sing often and the children really like it.
Please do not send your child to school without appropriately warm clothing. We do go outside unless it is inclement weather or at/below freezing (wind chill taken into consideration). This should include some covering for their ears- hats, hoods, earmuffs, etc. and, possibly, mittens/gloves. They should be LABELED WITH NAMES.
Check your child's calendar each day. Smiles = a good day. A number means that your child is having difficulty with that behavior. Your signature at the end of the week will let me know that you are aware of your child's progress.
Does your child have a FULL change of clothes in school?
