U.S. History II

Course Overview: 

United States History II focuses on the critical issues that confronted the American people from the end of the Civil War to the onset of World War I. Students will examine the historical, geographic, political, economic, and sociological events that contributed to the emergence of the United States as a world power and discuss the ways in which those events have shaped both the country and the world. Topics covered in this course include Reconstruction, industrialization, immigration, urbanization, transformation of the South and the West, the Progressive Era, and American imperialism. Students will analyze information from primary and secondary sources, identify cause and effect relationships, and provide tenable explanations for issues facing the United States during this period.
