Varsity Golf - Tryouts - August 6th @ Noon/August 7th @ 11:30 AM - John F. Byrne GC
Please have all PIAA paperwork completed prior to tryouts.
Tryout Dates/Requirements:
Location: John F. Byrne Golf Course, 9550 Leon St. Philadelphia, PA 19114
Breakdown: 9 Holes each day, putting challenge (day 1), chipping challenge (day 2)
Graded based off of scores, technique, attitude, etiquette, coachability, etc.
To tryout, you must have:
Completed Athletic Paperwork from MaST Athletics Website (No Exceptions)
Must have your own equipment, clubs, bags, pushcart (optional), water (Driving golf carts is not allowed for high school golfers)
If Clubs are needed please reach out to me. I have 4 sets that I can loan if needed while supplies last.
Proper Golf Attire: Polo Collared Shirt, Golf Walking Shorts, Skirt, Pants, Belt, Hat (Optional), proper Golf shoes must be worn.
Tryout Rules and Regulations
If any cheating is reported and can be proven, you will be dismissed. Golf is a game of integrity.
You must adhere to proper golf etiquette at all times while on the course and give complete respect to John F. Byrne Golf Course for hosting us.
Each day we will have a pre/post-round short game section of our tryout to gauge chipping and putting abilities of each golfer trying out for the team.
Scorecards must be accurately kept and turned in at the end of each round.
Max scores: Double Par Pick up (8 Max for a par 4, 10 Max for Par 5, 6 Max for a Par 3).
