Spring Credit Flex Application - Open!
Students may take an online course through an outside provider with control over the time, place, and pace of their learning. Students are responsible for researching and selecting an online course they wish to take. After submitting an application, students will receive an email stating whether or not the plan was approved.
PLEASE READ THIS PAGE COMPLETELY BEFORE SUBMITTING A CREDIT FLEX APPLICATION FOR AN ONLINE COURSE.
*Please also review ALL information in the Credit Flexibility Handbook.
Submit the Credit Flex Application (from the student's MMS account!) where the student will indicate which provider/course they plan to take.
Students will receive an email indicating if the course was approved or not - please allow approximately 1 week for receipt of approval email after the application window closes. **All emails will be sent to the student's MMS email account.**
If the course is approved, the student may proceed with registering/purchasing the course. **At this point, all registration questions should be handled by the online provider.**
A transcript, including the final course grade, should be submitted to their MMS counselor. **If taking a course from BYU, a transcript will be sent to MMS upon completion as long as the student indicates that MMS is their school upon registering for the course.**
*An online provider must be an accredited institution and must be able to provide an official transcript indicating a grade and credit earned upon completion of the coursework.
*If this course is a prerequisite to another course for original credit, you MUST complete the Credit Flex course PRIOR to being scheduled into the next course in the sequence.
*All fees associated with online courses, including exam proctoring fees, are the sole responsibility of the applicant. Please do not purchase a course until you have received approval of your Credit Flex plan.
*Students will provide a transcript to the MMS Credit Flexibility administrator or counselor upon completion of the course. Please note: grades earned for online courses will be recorded as submitted by the online provider.
**All students completing Financial Literacy through Credit Flexibility must also complete CPR/AED training and submit a copy of their completion certificate to receive credit for the course.
All costs related to the CPR/AED course are the responsibility of the student.
Certification is not required; students must show evidence of completion of a CPR/AED course.
Courses can be found online (Red Cross, etc.) or often times through local organizations such as the local fire department.
The completion certificate should be sent to the MHS Credit Flexibility administrator or counselor upon completion of the course.
**Below is a list of examples of online providers that have been approved in the past for some courses. This list is not exhaustive and applicants are free to research other providers as well.
