We ask that posters and 3D prints be submitted through our express print service so we can manage materials, ensure proper sizing, and keep the equipment running smoothly. This process helps us reduce errors, prevent waste, and make sure every project is completed safely and on time.
Upload your files and our staff will complete your project. Please be mindful of the guidelines and rules listed on the form as you submit your file.
Please complete the following form. (If you have multiple print jobs, please submit them separately)
Poster printers print large format images on long rolls of paper. They are very similar to an inkjet printer you might use at home, except for their very large size and ability to meet exacting specificiations.
Files we accept: We can accept PNG, JPG, and PDF files. Files should be in the exact size needed before submission as we cannot resize images for people.
BEGINNER | Use Canva: Canva has many pre-made templates that you can customize yourself. You can also create original designs within Canva.
INTERMEDIATE to ADVANCED | Design your own: Use beginner-friendly software like Tinkercad, or advanced software like AutoCAD or Fusion 360.
3D Printing Basics
Our 3D printers create physical objects by building them layer by layer from melted filament. They can produce detailed models, prototypes, and creative designs in a variety of shapes and sizes.
Files we accept: We can accept STL and 3MF files. Files should be fully prepared and ready to print before submission, as we cannot make design changes for you.
Choose or Create a Design
BEGINNER | Use Tinkercad: Tinkercad is an easy-to-use, web-based design tool that lets you create simple 3D models by combining shapes.
INTERMEDIATE to ADVANCED | Design your own: Use beginner-friendly software like SketchUp, or advanced software like Fusion 360 or Blender.
How can I design a poster?
Posters can be created in a number of different software titles. Some studnets learn to use Adobe Photoshop, Illustatrator, and InDesign. Those work great. You don't need to know those professional software packages. Adobe Express and Canva are popular options with artists of all abilities.
Can I print a lot of copies?
Printing on our printer is actually somewhat expensive compared to commercial options. We ask that students limit themselves to one print per project.
How big can you print?
18 x 24 or smaller is our general guideline for poster sizes.
Please be sure to read the printing rules on the form for more information.
What types of printers do you use?
We use printers from Bambu Labs. Currently, we have 4 Bambu Carbon X-1 printers and 2 Bambu A-1 printers.
What type of filament is available?
We have both PLA and PET-G, which are fairly similar thermoplastics.
What colors are available?
Because of the volume of prints we deal with, we do not generally take color requests. We simple print in one of the colors that happen to be in the machine at the time. The colors rotate based on stock. If you have specific needs, please speak to the Dream Center staff.
What file types can the printer handle?
We ask that you turn in .STL files - which are common files in all 3D design programs. If you're an advanced user, we can also take .3mf and .gcode files.
How big can you print?
In general, our printers can handle 256mm in any direction. Large projects that use a lot of filament may not be possible.
Can I use TinkerCad?
Yes! TinkerCad is a wonderful, fast, and easy to learn 3D modeling application. In TinkerCard, select all of your objects and go to EXPORT > and select .STL. Just send us that .STL file.
Please be sure to read the printing rules on the form for more information.
