Chromebooks
The Dream Center Help Desk can help with all sorts of Chromebook Problems. Unfortunately, our Help Desk can't fix everything that comes in.
What CAN be fixed at the Help Desk:
- Physical Damage (she writes up a repair, sends it out, gives a loaner).
- Problems with charging, keyboard language, or timezone specific to the Chromebook
What CANNOT be fixed at the Help Desk:
- Login Issues (Google, Schoology, HAC, etc.)
- Problems with apps used in the classroom
- GoGuardian filters and blocks
Chromebooks Fixes & Tricks
I'm a teacher giving a test, do you have extra Chromebooks for testing?
If you are requiring a student to have their Chromebook for a test, it may be a good idea to give them a heads up (when/if possible). District Chromebooks can be good devices for secure testing, but about 60% of our students use a personal device as their day-to-day computer. This is not surprising since Windows and Mac are capable of so much more than a Chromebook. It can be difficult to have enough devices and human capacity to loan out devices to kids not carrying their Chromebooks on test days.
What if something CANNOT be fixed at the help desk:
A Tech Ticket is so important for getting something fixed. The Tech Ticket ensures the issue gets routed to the right person.
Here are your tech ticket options:

What happens if my Chromebook Breaks?
You can bring your Chromebook to the Dream Center Help Desk for repairs. They will do a brief assessment and then send the Chromebook out to our off-site repair team. You will be given a loaner. The repair team may add repair fees to your student fees in PaySchools Central.
I forgot my Chromebook. Now what?
Due to supply, we can only offer loaners for a single bell. Chromebooks must be returned in between each bell that it is needed.
