Subject: FALL 2024 Textbook Funds and Ordering Information
Hello!
I hope this message finds you well and ready for the upcoming semester. As you prepare for your courses, I want to share some important information regarding textbook funds for the FALL 2024 semester.
Textbook Funds:
FALL 2024 semester Textbook funds for students attending public and private high schools will be available through the UC Bookstore TODAY! However, please note that home school students are required to cover the cost of textbooks themselves. Public & Private students: DO NOT pay for textbooks with your own funds.
Ordering Process:
Please keep in mind that you cannot order textbooks until you have registered for your course(s). If your courses next semester require textbooks, view this example (Finding Textbook Information) on where to locate them in Catalyst.
To initiate the textbook purchasing process, follow the steps on our website starting at "Purchase Books Online." Create an account through the UC Bookstore, and plan to pick up the textbooks from a UC bookstore or opt for shipping (note that our office does not cover shipping costs). Contact information for each UC Bookstore is available at the bottom of our website and at the end of this email for any additional questions.
Helpful Reminders:
-It is possible that your professor has not chosen their textbooks this early. If that’s the case, continue to check back periodically. Sometimes a professor does not require a textbook.
-Supplies and Materials required for courses might not be available until day 1 of classes where you receive the syllabus.
-For those taking Art classes, you may have to contact the bookstore once you receive your syllabus on 1st day of class to coordinate ordering the supplies the instructor requires.
- It is possible the bookstore may be out of stock of or may not carry the book you need. If this occurs:
-Confirm with the bookstore if there is an anticipated date of supply.
-If the class has begun, notify your professor the book is not yet available.
-Contact your school to determine their textbook purchasing or reimbursement policies. Your high school may have the ability to order the book from another source.
-Please remember, UC cannot reimburse you if you choose to purchase books or materials with your own funds. Be sure to follow your school’s policies pertaining to textbook purchasing if you are not able to use the UC bookstore due to lack of supply.
Digital Textbooks/Access Codes:
If digital textbooks or access codes are required, follow the instructions on the attachment provided.
Textbook Returns:
