Our Intro to Woodworking students have spent a good deal of the semester learning about the safe and accurate use of power equipment in woodworking. We spent time demonstrating the use of all the machines and testing students on the safety practices with each machine. Since then, students have practiced using most of the equipment to complete a shelf project that we should be finishing up in the next week or two.

Our Project Lead the Way (PLTW) Intro to Engineering Design (IED) sections spent a lot of time learning about and applying the design process with our carnival game projects. Students created several iterations and gathered and applied data to inform their design changes along the way. We wrapped up our initial unit and have moved on to start our unit talking about isometric sketching, CAD, and 3D modeling.
