This is my 20th year of teaching and 18th year being part of the Mukwonago High School Technology & Engineering Department. I am currently teaching five welding classes throughout the day which include welding I, welding II and welding III. During my time at Mukwonago, I have been able to attend many WTEA conferences, WTEA sponsored classes, served on a committee for PRAXIS to develop the PRAXIS II exam for technology education majors at Princeton, and served as school representative on a library board for the Alice Baker Memorial Library in Eagle, WI. My department members and I have also been able to help several families through donations of projects and our time.
I have been a Technology Education teacher for over 25 years and the past 7 in Mukwonago. I teach a variety of woodworking and construction classes each year. I teach both Intro to Woodworking, as well as, Advanced Woodworking where kids will design and build their own projects such as, shelves, flags, and epoxy river tables. I also teach the Construction class, which introduces students to different phases in the building process, like, masonry, electrical, and carpentry. Construction is the prerequisite to my Building Trades class that has partnered with various groups and local companies and have built many structures around the community as well as the school district. Building Trades is a transcripted credit course where students can earn credits for WCTC, as well as, earn certifications for OSHA and CPR accreditations.
I am also the JV coach for both the Girls and Boys golf program at Mukwonago High School.
This is my 7th year teaching. After spending many years working as an Automotive Technician, I decided to teach tech ed. I currently teach two semester long classes - Basic Auto, and Small Engines. I also teach two year-long classes, Auto Service Tech I, and Auto Service Tech II. I have had many opportunities to extend my learning and continually update my education in the automotive field. Students in the Auto Service Tech classes earn industry certificates (ASE), participate in youth apprenticeships, and earn college credit through WCTC. They also have opportunity to bring their own vehicles in and work on them.
I enjoy camping during my free time. I have six grown children and camping is one way we can all spend time together.
This is my fourth year teaching at Mukwonago High School. Prior to becoming a teacher I worked in industry working in various manufacturing, planning, design, programming and management roles. Being a Mukwonago alumni and knowing what a fantastic program we have here at Mukwonago, it was an easy choice to join the Technology and Engineering team. This year I am teaching Manufacturing, Machine Tool I, Machine Tool II, Innovation Lab, Principles of Engineering, Architectural Design, and Advanced Innovation. I have a lovely wife who is a teacher and three wonderful children of my own in the district that are currently at Prairie View Elementary. I take pride in our mission of making sure young adults at Mukwonago are career and college ready
This is my 18th year in teaching, but my 1st year teaching in Mukwonago. I have taught a variety of technology education courses in several different districts in southeast Wisconsin. Currently I am teaching PLTW: Intro to Engineering Design, Intro to Woodworking, and Work Seminar. I also coach Varsity Football at Mukwonago.
