One of my welding III classes that fabricated planter boxes and pumpkins for table centerpieces

Our welding III classes started the year with their first welding fabrication challenge of coming up with table centerpieces for the Education Foundation. The students were given a demo on the GTAW equipment and were able to learn how to do a push puddle after setting up the equipment. Students then chose to weld together a flower planter box or fabricate a pumpkin.

Our welding II classes have been very busy learning how to complete our basic GMAW welds. Students are continuing to work on hand position, aim, work angle, and tip-to-work distances along with finding the correct voltage and wire speed that works for them. We will soon be starting fabrication projects for the holiday season.
