College Composition and Research is a one semester class for students looking to improve their research skills for post high school opportunities. As a Global Certificate student who would like to earn 1/2 a credit toward the program you must complete a research project focused on a global issue using global sources.
Geology is a one semester course that will earn students 1/2 credit toward the Global Certificate.
Global Foods is a one semester course and will count for 1/2 a credit toward the Global Certificate.
History of Russia and Asia is a one semester course that will earn 1/2 credit toward the Global Certificate. The course will study the modern history of Russia from before the Soviet Era to modern day & also China's transition into Communism and their place in the world today.
The Beasts of British Literature is a one semester course focusing on the literature produced from the authors of Great Britain. The course will count as 1/2 credit toward the Global Certificate.
World Geography is a one semester course that will earn 1/2 credit toward the global certificate. World Geography will focus in on Central America, Europe, Subsaharan Africa and GIS Technology. The course studies each region focusing first on physical geography and then cultural geography.
World Perspectives in Literature will look at genres of writing as well as common themes from various portions of the world. Students will read poetry from Italy, short stories from Nigeria excerpts from Senegal, Colombia and many others along with choosing a novel from various places to discuss with other students in Literature circles.
