Isabella Mejia

Greetings honorable delegates,

I am pleased to welcome you to the seventeenth Barranquilla Model United Nations conference! My name is Isabella Mejia, and I will be presiding over DISEC alongside my Co-President Sebastian Vergara.

It has always been our responsibility to defend the world, our home, from dangers that threaten its safety and integrity. However, history has proven that the greatest risk to our planet is the unconsciousness of mankind; blindly guided by greed and power, humanity has reached a breaking point. Therefore, we must all work together in order to stop the destruction that is eradicating our home, and the home of the generations to come.

We expect the utmost level of both preparation and cooperation from all delegates, so that the debate may run fluidly throughout the entire conference. If you have questions regarding the agenda or the topics, please do not hesitate to reach me at mejia.isabella@marymountbq.edu.co, as I will gladly help you. Finally, let’s be the sparks of hope that ignite a change in our world.

Best of luck,

Isabella Mejia

Sebastian Vergara

Greetings,

A grand welcome to all of our dear delegates, distinguished sponsors, and cherished visitors of the upcoming BAMUN XVII! My name is Sebastian Vergara and I will be presiding over DISEC along with my Co-President Isabella Mejia.

Throughout our lives, we have been taught that we must make a change. Yet sometimes, obstacles get in the way of this and we seem to believe that making a difference is rather a utopic vision of how life should go. If you are looking at this message right now, you too have felt the drive to enhance the current situation of our planet, even if it all seems too difficult to come true. If you have felt the need to improve what can be improved, you are the spark this world needs. May all of you delegates bring your cleverest ideas, your most benevolent decisions, and most importantly, your ever-growing sparks of hope to ignite in every human the flame they need to believe that the world can change.

If you require any assistance during the development of your preparation, don’t hesitate to contact me at my email vergara.sebastian@marymountbq.edu.co.

With the utmost belief in your abilities,

Sebastián Vergara
