Chronic Absentee Indicator

This is a new indicator on the CA Dashboard this year. This indicator is based on the number of students who were absent for 10% or more of the total instructional school days. For example, if there are 180 days of school and the student missed 18 or more of those days, the student would be considered chronically absent.

The CA Dashboard indicator is based on two factors:

• 2017-18 Chronic Absenteeism rates for grades K-8
• Whether results improved from the 2016-17 Chronic Absenteeism rates
