Academic Indicator

The Academic Indicator for the CA Dashboard is based on student performance on the Smarter Balanced Assessment (SBAC) for English Language Arts (ELA) and Mathematics, which are given to students each spring in grades 3rd through 8th and 11th.

The CA Dashboard indicator is based on two factors:

• Current year results
• Whether results improved from the prior year
