THIS WEEK'S MCS HIGHLIGHTS
Hard work brings options for our Gators. And today, with many options on the table, Jordan Matthewson made it know where he's heading when his playing time comes to a close at The Swamp.
Congratulations to Jordan and his entire family! See less
Thank you to everyone who braved the heat today to help Stuff the Bus with school supplies for Martin County Schools students! Your generosity was truly overwhelming, and we are so grateful for the incredible support shown to our students and schools.
A very special thank you to APG, The Enterprise, and all of the local businesses that sponsored today’s event. We also extend a huge thank you to Williamston Walmart and Williamston’s Piggly Wiggly for being tremendous partners and helping with the location, logistics, and boxes needed to transport donated supplies.
We know donations came in from as far away as New Jersey, and from neighbors close by in Beaufort, Bertie, and Washington counties. And Martin County, THANK YOU!! That kind of support speaks volumes about how much people care about Martin County students.
All donated supplies will be sorted and shared among Martin County Schools.
This week’s Hometown Hero with NuBlue Electric, Plumbing, and Air is
Austin Moore from Robersonville was
nominated by his mom Columbia, who writes:
I am the mom to an amazing young man. Austin is 11 years old and has gone through a LOT in his 11 years. One of his three brothers was killed by a vehicle three years ago, and less than 11 months later his dad, my husband, passed away from lung cancer. Then his Grandmother passed that same year.
What amazes me about Austin is how, despite all of these losses, he has been able to shine!!! This summer he set up a table with various items to sell...half of the money he earns he uses to purchase more items. The other half he uses to buy gas cards to donate to the ECU Health Cancer Care Clinic in Tarboro for the cancer patients receiving treatment. So far he has donated 12 $25 gas cards totaling $300! He does this in memory of his dad, as that clinic is where he was receiving treatment before he passed away. Austin is MY hero in every way. He has such a big heart. I hope he continues with his journey. And I love him beyond measure!!!
A special thank you to the Sheriff's Office for such an awesome event!!!
Martin County Schools is excited to welcome new teachers to orientation this past week. Teachers learned about the Beginning Teacher Support Plan policy, setting classroom routines and procedures, educational supports, school and district mentoring supports, a deep dive into their standards and curriculum, and ways they'll receive support through evaluations and feedback this school year. We are so thankful they're here where Martin Offers More
There's little rest for hard-working Gators, even in the summer!
What an incredible opportunity for these students to strengthen their leadership skills, connect with FCCLA members from across the country, and experience our nation’s capital!
We are so proud of our MCHS FCCLA organization and the opportunities it continues to provide for students. We are also incredibly grateful for Ms. Joyner and the time, energy, and heart she pours into leading this organization each year. Her commitment helps our students grow as leaders, take on new challenges, and represent Martin County Schools with pride.
Congratulations to Ezzurie, Jhyyonna, Ariana, Ms. Joyner, and MCHS FCCLA! We love seeing our students take their talents beyond the classroom and onto the national stage!
What a way to start a Monday morning!!
Thank you to Nicholas and Lisa from Williamston's H&R Block office, 1059 Walmart Drive, for bringing by sweets from Dunkin Donuts for all MCS schools and offices!
Ms. Robin from our front desk arranged delivery to our schools, and staff are already enjoying the generosity!
Thanks again! We are so grateful for our community partners
