I graduated from Murray State with a degree in Library Science after doing my student teaching at BES in 2001.
I officially became the librarian here in 2003 and I love this school!
Go Indians!
People always ask me what my favorite book is. That's so hard to answer because I have so many! I'd rather tell you about the books I think YOU might like!
However, if I have to pick a favorite book, it would definitely be Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus by Mo Willems. Why? Because it's so much fun to read out loud! After all, how often do adults get to throw a big fit when they don't get what they want?
If you don't know what to read, ask me! I've always got suggestions!
Here's a list of some of my favorite chapter books!
When I turned 16, my first car was a Mustang. I've been obsessed ever since. I currently have 4, but only 2 of them actually run! This is my favorite... my 1965 Mustang named Iris June.
I also have 2 Jeeps. One is named Blue Moon of Kentucky after an old Bluegrass song and the other one is named Trouble.
(Yep, they all have names.)
This is Bolt. I've had him since 2022. He's a big fluffy teddy bear. He's so big that I call him a horsky instead of a husky.
In 2004, I got my first husky. I've had huskies ever since because they keep showing up in the shelters.
Yes, all of mine are pound puppies.
Bella 2.0, aka, Tundra, was added to the pack in 2024 when I spotted her at the Humane Society here in Marshall County. I couldn't resist her due to her resemblance to my Bella-Boo.
(P.S. If you don't like to vacuum, don't get a husky. If you like quiet, don't get a husky. If you'd like your dog to listen to you, don't get a husky. )
Paige was adopted from Big Fluffy Dog Rescue in January 2026. She was previously living with a foster family in Nashville, Tennessee.
Isn't her name perfect? It was Sage when I got her, but I thought Paige Turner was more appropriate for a librarian's dog.
In college, I minored in art. I love to draw and paint! This is one of my paintings, but more of my artwork can be seen around the school and sometimes even in slideshows and on worksheets!
See more of my art (and pictures of the huskies) in the picture carousel below!
