Central idea: Technology constantly evolves to progress human societies.
Year 5 have been super creative in their second line of inquiry. Inspired by Andy Warhol, they’ve been experimenting with colour manipulation and have recreated his famous Marilyn Monroe print using their own selfies. They then moved on to designing a logo for a technology company, creating lino prints and digitally manipulating the colours. They’re now busy planning a digital advert to showcase their logo.
In maths, the class have been tackling long multiplication. They’ve been building their skills step by step and have shown fantastic determination throughout.
In writing, the children are using their travel brochures about their fictional islands to help them write diary entries as if they’ve just discovered their island for the very first time. They’ve been thinking carefully about using both past and future tense, to bring their writing to life.
It’s been a busy and exciting couple of weeks, and Year 5 should be really proud of everything they’ve achieved.
