Introduction to Manufacturing - CP

Introduction to Manufacturing is a one-semester course. Introduction to Manufacturing is a hands-on class designed to introduce students to the technical drawing process, materials science, mechanical/structural design, creative problem-solving, and other manufacturing and design concepts. Students will have the opportunity to make a wooden bowl, baseball bat, bandsaw, jewelry box, and wooden airplane. These projects will exercise their ability to follow drawings and written instructions. They will also explore CAD/CAM (computer aided drawing and manufacturing) using our CNC machine.
Advanced Manufacturing - CP
CP1 Course Number: 722
Level: College Prep 1 Credits: 2.5 – one semester
Open to Grades: 10, 11, 12
Prerequisite: Woodworking 2
This course is a continuation of Woodworking 2. The student will further expand their skills on larger projects
and design their own. Issues of what makes a set of plans, and how the student’s skill set, available resources
and equipment matches their design intent will be investigated.
