Royal River Teachers

Hi There, I am Ms. Soucy -

I will start by saying I am incredibly excited to join the Royal River team. I can't wait to meet all of you!

I started my career in 2011 and have never looked back. I also have a background in behavior, restorative practices, and athletics. I have always considered myself a forever learner, and I firmly believe there is always room to learn from those around us.

I have two kids. My son Kevin is 11, and my daughter Briana is 9. We have one dog named Athena, and she is the best girl. (Who LOVES snuggles)

My family is everything to me and we often get together for adventures. I have two brothers, one sister, and lots of nieces and nephews.

We love to be active! Some of the things we enjoy are anything involving sports, hiking, camping, live music, BBQs, trying new foods, and trying new things together.

I grew up playing every sport I could and riding horses. I continued through college by playing soccer, softball, and volleyball. Some other things I enjoy are photography, running, reading, painting, writing, history, science, working out, and really anything outdoors.

I am beyond excited about the learning and adventures we will experience this year! I can't wait to meet you!

It's Ms. Reiter!

Hello, and welcome to the Royal River Team.  I’m Ms. Reiter and I am so excited to have you on our team.  I love being a middle school teacher and advisor.  It is amazing that I get to spend my days helping you all engage in learning and foster your growth.  I love to read, engage in scientific inquiry, debate current and historical issues, and dig deeply into challenging math problems.  A few of my favorite things to do are help students find great books to read and assist them in working through really challenging questions.

In my free time, I love to be with my family.  My husband and I have two boys and a black lab.  We love to ski, sail and ride bikes.  In the winter I am a volunteer ski patroller.  Before the pandemic, travel was also one of my  favorite ways to adventure and my family lived on a boat in the Bahamas for six months.  In quieter moments, I am also an avid reader.

Hello! I’m Ms. Satterfield -

I have had the joy of living in Readfield and  the Maranacook Community since 2004 and first worked at RES in the ABA/Behavior Program. I have been at MCMS since 2013 and the Advisor System is easily my favorite part of being at MCMS.

I have two adult children. My son is working line crew at an FBO in Portland and is close to completing his CFI license so he's able to teacher others how to fly. My daughter is an EMT south of Boston, Massachusetts, acquiring hours to apply to Physicians Assistant schools on the east coast. They are proud Maranacook graduates. Maverick, my grandson, is a bright light in my world. I have 3 cats: Mose, Spock and Finn; and a naughty dog, Atlas. Atlas is easily the worst behaved dog in the history of the world.

I enjoy all things Maine, although I’m a transplant from North Carolina. If I’m snowshoeing or skiing in the woods, I am happy; I’m always hoping for more snow.  I also enjoy attending musicals at Maine State Music Theater, Maranacook Community Schools or on Broadway if I'm lucky enough to find the time!

My family is the most important thing to me, and I have been very fortunate to live within an hour of my siblings most of my adult life. My nieces and nephews are all amazing, and I have been very privileged to teach two of them and know them as learners in addition to relatives.

Learning with all students is an amazing experience, and I’m not afraid to admit when I don’t know the answer, but am always willing to find it. I hope you'll have fun while learning.
