🎒FIELD TRIP for ROYAL RIVER TEAM!🎒

Who: Royal River Team

When: Friday, May 31; Depart MCMS @ 8:00 am and Return to MCMS @ 7:00 pm

Where: Monhegan Island via Port Clyde

What: Students will travel to and from Monhegan Island on the ferry. The trip will allow students to examine the ecological systems and human impacts on the island of Monhegan.  This community allows students to see how sustainability can work for a more isolated living location.  We ask students to pay a discounted rate of $25.00 to help the team buffer the cost of the ferry. School lunches will be provided. If you can cover the fee for any child for whom this is a hardship, we welcome and greatly appreciate it! Please pack two lunches for your child as we are gone a substantial amount of time. If you would like to donate snacks (boxes of granola bars, fruit snacks, pretzels in small bags, etc) for the team, we would greatly appreciate it.

Students need to pay for their ferry ticket, which is discounted for Royal River Team. The cost is $25 per student. Checks may be made payable to "RSU 38" with MCMS-Royal River in the memo.

Bag lunches will be offered by the school.

*Please note students will need a ride home from school at 7:15 pm.

Royal River participates in Community Cafe at MCMS

On Thursday, March 7, Royal River students in Ms. Reiter's "You in the Real World" core class took their developed Business Plans and presented them to members of our community at the Community Cafe held on the stage at MCMS. They presented their plans to community members while answering questions and getting feedback about their innovative ideas. Additionally, they talked about plans and career choices with members of a generation different from their own. We are extremely proud of our students! They carried themselves with confidence, poise, and professionalism.

Dreambox Learning is back!

Royal River students will once again have access to math learning with Dreambox, a highly intuitive math program. It ties directly to Common Core math standards identified as RSU 38 priorities. Students are required to do five lessons per week in addition to math homework given in class. They are encouraged work on these at tutorial. Each week, they are due on Saturday before midnight - this is when Dreambox resets for the next week.

Please Join Us for the Summer Reading Challenge!

For the benefit of your child, if you are planning to be away from school (two or more days) for any reason, please know that we have a planned absence form for students to fill out AHEAD of the absence. This supports your child in planning for the work they will be missing when gone. It allows us to prioritize assignments and learning knowing your child will be away from the classroom. The form can be found here: MCMS Planned Absence Form
