There may be students who are ideal candidates for the VCE-VM that may have barriers in the way of them completing a required VET course at an external setting. To meet the needs of our MLC students, the Vocational Program will be offering specific VET options for students to break these barriers down and improve pathway outcomes for our students. This will be known as the "Internal VET stream program"
Some students will struggle with accessing external VET courses for a variety of reasons, and as such will find it difficult to be successful in this mandatory part of their program. We do not believe that access issues relating to VET should be a reason for a student in the VCE-VM program to not be successful in completing Year 12, therefor we have developed an internal VET stream to support our VCE-VM students.
Our VCE-VM program runs small businesses across Year 11 and 12 every Thursday. In 2024, we will be offering internal VET courses that are attached to these Businesses that students who may struggle to attend external courses will be able to complete in place of attending a VET course offsite. These VET course offerings are yet to be confirmed however will most likely be in the areas of:
Creative Industries(music, screen and media, digital media and sound production)
Workplace Skills (business administration and development)
Small Business (businbess design development, review and reflection)
Active Volunteering (community services, personal care, community programs and support work)
Skills for Work and Vocational Learning (skills for entry level employment and preparation for further study post Year 12)
If you believe that the internal VET stream option might be right for you/your child, please complete a VCE-VM application form and tick the VCE-VM-Internal VET Stream option
