MECHS STEM Club has a robotics team!
About the team
Conspiracy Robotics (Team 9506) participates in FIRST Robotics Competitions twice a year throughout the state of Texas. The team consists of coaches, mentors, alumni, and STEM club members from different grade levels and backgrounds that are committed to the team's success. The team meets every week and divides and conquers to tackle different parts of the robot in order to meet the goal. The goal is revealed during kickoff, a day in which the game and rules of the latest First Robotics Competition event is announced. From here, the team immediately starts brainstorming ideas and ultimately makes them a reality.
Something For Everyone
Sub groups of the team are mechanical, electrical, programming, and scouting, so there is something for everyone! One doesn't have to be proficient or well versed in robotics in order to contribute to the team, it's a learning process for all.
Safety
FRC requires building a robot with the help of both small tools and big tools in the STEM workshop (located in a modified classroom inside of MECHS). This calls for the learning of handling such tools appropiately and safely. Coaches, mentors, and alumni ensure that every theorist is familiar with the equipment and has signed a waiver prior to entering the workshop.
Astonishing Achievement
Conspiracy Robotics participated in the First Robotics Competition Crescendo and earned the Rookie All Star Award in 2024.
Travel Essentials, Covered
When Conspiracy Robotics travels for competition, food and housing is provided! This way, the theorists are well energized and rested for a day of competition!
Robot Demos
During off season, the team showcases what we have accomplished and continue to build on. For instance, some theorists went to UT Austin with our coaches and showcased the FRC Crescendo build!
Fundraising
Our coaches help obtain sponsorships that guides us toward success. Along with this, MECHS STEMers help sell over 100 chocolate boxes during the school year and sell concessions to fund the club!
