A Little About Me
A Little About Me
Hello! My name is Mina Hornsby. I am a Kindergarten Teacher here at Bluebonnet Trail Elementary. This is my 19th year of teaching at BTE. I have taught Kindergarten, First, Second, and Third grades. This will be my seventh year of experience teaching Kindergarten.
I am a proud Magna Cum Laude graduate of Huston-Tillotson College where I received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies. I returned to school and received a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Texas State University.
I have a daughter, Marissa, who is the founder of House of Noelle and an employee at Whole Foods. She is also the proud mother of my only grandchild, Madisyn, who is five years old. I was married for 30 years to my late husband, James, who passed away in 2020 after a lengthy illness.
The Dallas Cowboys are my favorite team. I’m convinced they are going back to the Super Bowl sooner rather than later! I also love to read political novels and try out new recipes. But my true passion is teaching children!
Bluebonnet Trail Elementary is the jewel of this district. This campus is truly a special place because of the wonderful teachers who are committed to the education of our students. I look forward to a great school year with your child!
