Term 1 Topic
Our focus in Term 1 was around our identity, our stories, our history; places of our rohe. We began by creating a visual of our school pepeha for tamariki to understand what it means. We heard the stories of Te Ika a Māui, the journey of Te Parata and Kahutianui to Ngati Kahu and the legend of Moehuri and Mangōnui. We explored Māori Pā Sites and discussed why Māori created them as well as visiting Rangikapiti Pā.
